Kotahi moves New Zealand exports in Maersk’s rainbow container

Kotahi is proud to have moved New Zealand export product around the world, in Maersk’s rainbow container, one of only 19 rainbow containers currently circulating around the world.

Co-ordinated through our industry partners, Maersk and Coda, the rainbow container was welcomed at Coda’s Intermodal freight hub for packing and then transported to the Port of Tauranga ready for export.

Launched in 2021, Maersk’s rainbow container initiative celebrates and promotes diversity, inclusion and equity in the maritime and port logistics sectors. Kotahi is proud to have brought Maersk’s rainbow container into New Zealand for the second time, as allies of the LGBTTQIA+ community.  

Maersk’s first two rainbow containers embarked on a world tour at the start of 2021, from Los Angeles to Yokohama and several locations across Asia and Europe. The tour finished in Denmark for Copenhagen Pride 2021, before joining Maersk’s global container fleet.
